Grande e totalmente preta. O bico é preto e relativamente forte. Apesar de serem conhecidas por “corvos” em muitas zonas do país, não devem ser confundidas com esta espécie (Corvus corax). Assim, a gralha-preta distingue-se do corvo pelo menor tamanho, pela cauda quadrada e pelas vocalizações mais longas (“kraa-kraa-kraa”).
Large and completely black. The beak is black and relatively strong. Although they are known as “crows” in many areas of the country, they should not be confused with this species (Corvus corax). Thus, the black crow is distinguished from the crow by its smaller size, square tail and longer vocalizations (“kraa-kraa-kraa”).
Apresenta um regime alimentar variado, incluindo cadáveres de animais, aves jovens, ovos, insetos, minhocas e cereais.

Todas as aves aqui presentes foram consideradas irrecuperáveis para viver na Natureza, devido a fatores relacionados com a atividade humana. Foram entregues pelo CERVAS ao Parque Ecológico de Gouveia para viverem até ao final da sua vida sem necessidade de caçar ou de se protegerem de predadores, servindo para a educação e consciencialização ambiental.
All birds present here were considered unfit to live in the wild, due to factors related to human activity. They were delivered by CERVAS to the Gouveia Ecological Park to live until the end of their lives without the need to hunt or protect themselves from predators, serving for education and environmental awareness.
